Beauty + Bathroom Counter Favorites!

Happy Wednesday, y’all! We get lots of questions about our beauty routine and recommendations and while we’re not beauty experts, we’ve found our tried-and-true products and some new favorites and are excited to share those with y’all today, along with finds for making your vanity counter pretty, colorful and organized! Our signature lip and nail colors are the perfect place to start…a great red can make such a statement! For lips we adore this cream lip stain in the “Chili Pepper” shade…it goes on so easily (and stays on!) and doesn’t require a lip liner. For nails, our go-to is this lacquer in “A Red-Vival City,” which is an orangey-red color that goes with pretty much everything! Our skin regime includes Tata Harper products like this cleanser and this face oil, this exfoliator by Kate Somerville, La Mer eye balm and moisturizing cream (a recent splurge justified by a quickly-approaching 50th birthday!), and this at-home resurfacing peel by Dr. Dennis Gross, which is a game-changer! This sunscreen has the perfect consistency while adding a little bit of luminosity, and we adore Charlotte Tilbury’s Supermodel Body…it adds a little color and glow to make your skin look great (seriously, try it!).
Lately we’ve been super excited about Westman Atelier products like this highlight stick, this foundation, this bronzer and these brushes! For the eyes we love a neutral shadow with a little shimmer, this liquid eyeliner that we absolutely swear by, this mascara primer, and this mascara. We’ve been using this lighted makeup mirror and are BIG fans…it has so many great features like five light settings, 10x magnification (perfect for these nearly 50-year-old eyes!), bluetooth connectivity, plus a magnetic clip that allows you to attach your phone for photos or even Zoom calls!
A few of our favorite makeup and toiletry bags include this block print pouch, this hand-painted leather case, and this vegan leather bag that can be personalized with your monogram. We love incorporating vintage trinket dishes and small boxes, and a larger tray is a great way to corral all of these smaller containers on your counter. A few vintage finds we’ve been eyeing lately include this porcelain box, this little Wedgwood dish, and this lacquer box, and for larger trays a few favorites include this raffia and seagrass one, this simple white lacquer style (comes in two sizes), and this chic cane find for just $40! Framed art is another one of our favorite ways to add some color and interest to the bathroom counter…some pieces we’re loving right now are this cheetah print, this Roman-inspired intaglio and these pretty paintings by our dear friend Kayce Hughes!
When we started planning our Print Happy collaboration with Anthropologie, we immediately knew we wanted to include everyday items like soap, hand sanitizer and containers for keeping things organized, and our goal was to inject some fun color and pattern into these items so they can bring a little extra joy to your day! We love keeping the mini nail file “matchbooks” in a vintage dish on the bathroom counter, and our pill case is something you can actually keep out on display rather than stashing it in a drawer! And of course no vanity is complete without your favorite fragrances! Our signature scents include Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom and Penhaligon’s Lily of the Valley.
